Mode d emplois cocktails à revoir, plats assez onéreux, sinon bien

The service was pretty surprising and appalling. We were an international group of 15 women who had made this reservation over a week in advance. Although we are from a variety of different countries, we all live in France so we have come to know that French restaurant service is certainly not as attentive as it might be in other places like the US, UK, etc and have grown used to it. Still, we were shocked by just how inattentive the staff was. Through the window, we often saw the waiter sitting down and going on his phone, when we had been waiting for anyone to come by to help us. It took about 30 minutes after we arrived for anyone to come bring us water or take our orders. He only came once to take our orders, both drinks and food together (instead of serving us drinks when we first arrived and taking our food order later, which is standard), and never returned to check if anyone needed another drink. When someone did want another drink they had to chase him down inside. When it came time to pay, he brought the check to our table and then promptly left without saying a word. We assumed he’d bring back the payment terminal for us to pay, but he instead never returned and we each had to go pay inside. It was bizarre just how detached and inattentive he was, especially when we were a large group that could have actually paid for more drinks, starters, dessert (no dessert menu was mentioned or offered), had we been offered these things. We have these large group dinners regularly in restaurants around Nice, and we definitely won’t have it here again. (The prices were really inflated for pretty average food, anyway).
